I went to recce the castle at Eastnor last week for a wedding I’m going to be filming there in April.
What a beautiful place to get married!
As a kid I’d get taken on holidays to the Cotswold region and I remember going to Eastnor Castle a fair few times as it was not too far away from where we were. I was really in to my medieval knights at the time so loved castles and re-enactments and such. Obviously, being a child, it never crossed my mind to get married in such a place (though I probably did imagine leaping the walls Robin Hood style and saving Maid Marian from having to wed the evil Sheriff of Nottingham!) but having gone there last week to check the place out for such a purpose I can see how amazing it would be to tie the knot there.
Eastnor Castle itself is set beneath the Malvern Hills and surrounded by a deer park, lake and arboretum. It is of course a historic building attracting tourists all year round but it really promotes itself as an exclusive-use wedding venue. Interesting also to me, being a videographer by trade, was how much the venue is used for location filming. Many movies, television dramas, documentaries and commercials have been filmed there, as was “Run Runaway“, the music video by Slade in 1983!
